Expertise
Mr.
Wedewer has over 40 years of professional experience in all aspects of
general construction on a nationwide basis. As one of the founder’s of
ACS Inc., Mr. Wedewer’s expertise includes a solid background in
conceptual and designed project estimating; purchasing; all aspects of
contract management; claims management including negotiations,
arbitration, and lawsuits; project controls including, but not limited
to, cost engineering and scheduling; pre-construction to include project
proposals and project development; project execution, including project
manager and project executive/construction management; contract bonds;
insurance claim facilitating, estimating and appraisals.
Types of projects include civic centers, hospitals, high-rise office
buildings, high-rise condominiums, parking structures, performing arts
centers, convention centers, motels, hotels, churches, sports
facilities, schools, stores, shopping malls, manufacturing plants
including tilt-up construction, micro-electronics facilities, high-bay
test facilities, libraries, bank data processing centers, custom housing
and developments, airport runways / taxiways / aprons, municipal /
freeway roads and infrastructures and tenant interior development.
Markets served include public works - federal, state and local, as well
as commercial and private developers.
Notable Assignments
Mr. Wedewer established
and managed field operations and consultant teams, which provided damage
assessment and repair cost review for major U. S. commercial carriers on
catastrophes outside the state of California. These catastrophes were
located in Hawaii, North Dakota, Minnesota, Mississippi and Texas.
These losses included structure, finish and furnishings damage and
included the effects of biological, asbestos and code requirements.
Causes included flood, fire, hail, hurricane and tornado. Damage
assessment was also provided in the aftermath of the 1994 Northridge
Earthquake in southern California, as well as the Malibu / Laguna
Firestorm, Oakland Firestorm and Hurricane Iniki on Kauai.
As
an independent consultant, Mr. Wedewer also provided construction cost
consulting and analysis services to the adjusters of leading carriers.
Technical support regarding construction-related issues was provided to
adjusters throughout the adjustment process.
As
an appraiser, Mr. Wedewer provided services to insurance carriers on
earthquake claims where that option had been exercised. Additionally,
he has provided expert witness/technical support services to the
Superior and Municipal Courts of Los Angeles, California.
